NORFOLK, VA – Music for Wellness, LLC receives a matching grant from UCLArts and Healing (www.uclartsandhealing.org) for a free trial program for two drum tables. This new product line by REMO, Inc (www.remo.com) utilizes a Comfort Sound technology that offers a lower pitch to facilitate rhythmic synchronicity without overstimulation.
During the free trial period, Music for Wellness, LLC in collaboration with several non-profit community based Adult Day Care Programs in Southeast Virginia will develop activities, track preferences and document benefits and outcomes from the participants. This feedback will help REMO ascertain the benefits of the drum table and how it can be used – before it officially goes on the market.
Music for Wellness, LLC provides group empowerment rhythm and active music program sessions for older adults, retirees, and veteran populations in the Hampton Roads, VA (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and Portsmouth, etc).
The Adult Day Care Programs experimenting with the Table Drums include Colonial Heritage Community Foundation’s Innovative Senior Champion Program (www.colonialheritagecommunityfoundation.org), Williamsburg, VA and M.E. Cox Center for Elder Care Center (www.mecoxcenter.org), Virginia Beach, VA. The Colonial Heritage Community Foundation, Inc. (CHCF) is dedicated to establishing and expanding caregiver support programs, respite services and resources for caregivers of senior family members. M.E.
