This Health Beat Video illustrates the importance of attending conferences and training symposium. This Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium (VETS) was held in Norfolk, VA, a Business Development Conference created by Veterans for Veterans.
The Goal of the conference was to provide the knowledge and relationships needed for Veterans to transition into Business Owners to service the Federal Government.
From establishing connections with other thriving Veteran business owners with emerging Veteran entrepreneurs allowed for expansion of knowledge and relationships needed to acquire government contracts and teaming opportunities.
VETS2015 brought together Federal agencies, Prime contractors, and Veterans and discussed how to take full advantage of the Federally mandated contracting opportunities set aside specifically for Veteran-owned small businesses.
The National Veteran Small Business Coalition created VETS to help veteran business owners to accomplish small business goals. The conference will provided information you need to navigate the Federal acquisition process – from the government perspective as well as from successful veteran small business owners.
VETS also brought together Federal agencies, Prime contractors, and Veterans to network and discuss how to take full advantage of the Federally mandated contracting opportunities set aside for Veteran-owned small businesses. For over 20 years various Veteran small business groups have achieved success in advocating for Veterans to be seen as a viable force in the Federal government acquisition landscape.

Beginning with the enactment of Public Law 106-50 in 1998, the nation began to understand the earned benefit of honorable military service and Veterans continuing to serve their nation through entrepreneurship and selling goods and services to the Federal government. Unfortunately the Federal government continues to fall short of the acquisition goals mandated by Congress. VETS provided a platform for all stakeholders to get closer to these goals and support our Veteran small businesses.
