Looking for a fun and rhythmic activity to facilitate with older adults? Throughout this week, our seniors enjoyed a predictable, stimulating and festive music making experience to a modified version of “12 Days of Christmas” on sound shape drums.
On the 6th day of Christmas, our seniors tapped today … 6 drum beats (XXXXXX), 5 rumbling drums (xxxxxxxxxxxx), 4 drum beats (XXXX), 3 drum beats (XXX), 2 drum beats (XX), and 1 very LOUD drum (X!)
The seniors rumbled a very creative # 5 and tapped a very LOUD #1 together (without prompting). This structured and predictable activity creating a rewarding and empowering experience for everyone! It’s also a great activity for a New Year’s Countdown… Happy Holidays everyone and may you have a prosperous 2017!
