How to BEAT Out and Decrease Stress with Boomwhackers

0

Becky Watson, MBA, Board Certified Music Therapist during the Peninsula Task Force on Aging Meeting.

Thank you Peninsula Task Force on Aging for allowing me to share innovate ways to “BEAT out stress” with Boomwhackers.

This interactive presentation allowed the Peninsula Task Force on Aging to experience how to use Rhythm to decrease stress. An overview of the HealthRHYTHMS group empowerment drumming protocol was discussed. http://remo.com/experience/health-and-wellness

The HealthRHYTHMS Protocol is the foundation of our HealthRHYTHMS Group Empowerment Drumming Program, and consists of a series of 10 steps participants are guided through to facilitate communication and personal expression. Research has shown the results can include: increase in natural killer cell activity, reduction in stress and burnout rates, improvement in mood states, enhanced creativity and bonding, and more.

Becky Watson is passionate about serving older adults, care partners and health care professionals with evidenced based Music Therapy programs and Music Wellness programs as the owner of Music for Wellness,LLC. After serving her country for over 25 years and achieving the rank of Navy Captain, Becky completed her Music Therapy degree at Loyola, New Orleans and completed a Music Therapy Internship at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, VA.

  • Horses Helping Heroes “Thank you for your very thorough report. I can say, as not only the Program Director but also a Board member, that I am impressed with how well you grasped the workings of our program with just your short exposure to this wonderful service to our veterans.” Horses-Helping-Heros
